So due to a difference in printer properties, my printer treated them as two separate documents, in one double-sided print job, and presumably inserted the blank page to maintain the orientation of all pages that were printing. These documents never contained color, but only some had been set to print as grayscale and others were set to print as color. The property that messed it all up for me was color/grayscale. What I found was that this printer will only print two-sided if the printing properties between the worksheets were identical. But simply selecting two worksheets and printing them double-sided always produced a blank page on the back of the first worksheet, so I ended up with two single-sided sheets anyways. Then I got a printer capable of printing double-sided, and decided once and for all to make this work. Once a month, I printed a two-sided sheet with the monthly information on one side, and to-date summary information on the other.įor ages, I did this by printing the page once, then reloading it into the paper tray upside-down to print the other page. They were used for monthly records, so 12 of the sheets were monthly information, while the others were summary information for the year. My problem appeared when I was trying to print two different Excel worksheets from the same workbook, which contained in total around 16 worksheets. They never printed when printing single-sided.

I was having this exact problem, random blank pages when I printed two-sided. Check the printer properties for each document, or each page of the document, and make sure they are the same.
